Our commitment
Kept exists to hold things people say in trust — pastoral notes, student concerns, customer details. We treat that trust as the product. We don’t sell your data, we don’t rent your contact lists, and the people you serve are never charged or marketed to by us.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name, phone number, email, and organization details.
- Your captures: the messages and voice recordings you send to Kept, their transcriptions, and the logs, reminders, ideas, and events created from them.
- Contact records you create: names and details of the people you keep notes about. You control these; they belong to you or your organization.
- Usage and technical data: message delivery status, device/browser type, and diagnostics that keep the service reliable.
SMS / text messaging program
Program description: Kept sends and receives text messages so you can capture notes and receive the reminders, receipts, and reports you request. Message frequency varies with your use — typically a receipt for each message you send plus the reminders you schedule. Message and data rates may apply.
Opt-in: texting the Kept number, scanning a Kept QR code and confirming, or accepting an invitation from your organization constitutes consent to receive related messages. Opt-out: reply STOP at any time to stop all messages; reply HELP for help or contact hello@kepttoday.com. We honor opt-outs immediately.
No third-party marketing: phone numbers and consent obtained through this program are never shared with or sold to third parties for their marketing purposes.
How we use information
- To provide the service: classify your captures, deliver reminders, generate reports, and sync your organization’s shared items.
- To process voice and text through AI services (below) solely to perform the features you asked for.
- To communicate with you about your account, and to improve reliability and safety.
- Never to sell or rent personal information. Never to advertise to your receivers.
AI processing
Kept uses AI language models to transcribe and understand what you say. Your raw input is stored first and processed to create the records you asked for. AI providers process this data under agreements that prohibit using it to train their models. Classification can make mistakes; every capture returns a receipt you can correct.
Sharing within your organization
What you capture is private by default. Items are shared with others in your organization only according to the sharing rules you or your organization create, and organizations may set privacy floors that individual settings cannot override. Organization-scoped records belong to the organization; personal records remain personal, including when someone leaves.
Third-party services
We use vetted providers to run Kept — telephony (SMS/voice), email delivery, cloud hosting and database, payments, and AI processing. Each receives only what it needs to perform its function. Payment card details go directly to our payment processor; we never store them.
Data security and retention
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, with access controls limiting who and what can read it. We retain your data while your account is active; you may export or request deletion at any time, subject to legal record-keeping requirements.
Children
Kept accounts are for adults (18+). School organizations use staff-only seats; Kept does not offer accounts to students.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to end text messages at any time.
- Export your data or request deletion by contacting us.
- Correct any record through the app or by telling Kept.
Changes to this policy
We’ll post changes here and, for material changes, notify account holders directly.
